here is some preseason testing for the Formula E, the powertrain regs have been opened up so there is now some slight differences in the noises they make

Hell yes. I’m weird in that I like F1 even when it’s ‘boring racing’ or ‘too quiet’ because I’m more interested in the amazing engineering, so even though I’m a huge proponent of electric performance cars, I just couldn’t get into the Formula E—even with close racing. The combination of slow, heavy, tragically undertired spec cars and stupid gimmicks like calling the races ‘ePrixs’ and locking out drivers from some of their battery capacity to save it for fucking fan boost just didn’t do it for me. But let the teams build their own cars, push technology forward, now that’s what I call top level motorsport.

I completely agree. The first season of this series was one giant gimmick. Hopefully as time goes on they continue to mature into a properly competitive motorsports series.
